Movie & Film Contributor (Internship—Unpaid)

The Role We're looking for a creative and culturally-aware Movie & Film Contributor to join the Sideline Society Media team. This is an unpaid internship built for the aspiring writer who wants real bylines, real experience, and a platform to develop their voice covering film through the lens of culture, society, and the bigger picture.

What You'll Do

• Write and publish reviews of the latest film releases with a focus on cultural relevance and storytelling

• Explore how movies intersect with real-life themes, social conversations, and current events

• Analyze the broader lessons and takeaways films offer to general audiences

• Contribute written content to Sideline Society Media's newsletter and digital platforms

• Collaborate with the editorial team on content planning and story direction

• Share published work across social channels to help grow our audience

What We're Looking For

• A genuine passion for film and its power to reflect and shape culture

• Strong writing skills with a clear, engaging, and thoughtful voice

• The ability to go beyond the surface — connecting movies to larger societal themes and real-world conversations

• Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
