A New Era in San Antonio: Wemby and the Spurs Are Here for Everything.

For the first time since 2014, the San Antonio Spurs are back on the NBA's biggest stage. Twelve years ago, it was Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili carrying the banner for the Silver and Black.

A dynasty built on discipline, unselfishness, and Gregg Popovich's system. Now a completely new generation has punched their ticket to the Finals, set to face the New York Knicks starting June 4th.

More than a decade later the Spurs make their return but with a new franchise player. A player that is not from this world. He’s more like a 2K My Player build. His name is Victor Wembanyama. At 22 years old he has already made waves around the league with his play.

Wemby has already being mentioned in the same breath as Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar legendary big men.

In Game 3 of the first round against the Timberwolves, he dropped 39 points, 15 rebounds, and 5 blocks, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to reach that line in a playoff game, joining those three legends. Hall of Famers and future Hall of Famers across the league have gone out of their way to recognize what he is.

Man….Wemby is just different.

He can take over a game from anywhere on the floor, whether he is throwing down an alley-oop, stepping back from 30 feet, or erasing a shot at the rim that had no business being blocked. But what makes this Spurs run so intriguing is that he does not have to do it alone.

De'Aaron Fox, acquired mid-season, gives San Antonio a second playmaker who commands attention at full speed. Stephon Castle, the reigning Rookie of the Year, brings an edge on both ends of the floor.

Dylan Harper has come out as an emerging star. The supporting cast fits, and in the playoffs that matters as much as anything.

And If the Spurs bring out the nuns again that’s extra firepower an opposing team has to deal with.

The Spurs just fought through a seven-game war with the Oklahoma City Thunder to reach the Finals, and now they are set to face the New York Knicks on the biggest stage the sport has to offer.

San Antonio has not been here since the Big Three era. But the Big Three era is over. This is something new. This is something the league has never seen. The Spurs are an exciting team to watch now who would have thought.

This is Wemby's world. The rest of us are just living in it.

If your his opposition just pray.
