Drew Desbordes, better known as Druski, is arguably the funniest man on the internet.

But what makes his story so compelling isn't just the punchlines. It's the path. Before the sold out arenas, the Drake music videos, and the Forbes list, he was just a kid from Georgia. A kid with a phone and a personality that made everyone around him laugh.

I've been watching his comedy skits since 2017, back when the budgets were low and the production value was nonexistent, but even then something was different. The creativity, timing, personalities, and energy was all there from the start.

My childhood friend Owais Mohammad and I knew he would blow up.

It was just a matter of time. We used to send each other Druski’s videos nonstop on Instagram for a good laugh before our hoop sessions at Lincoln Park.

Druski enrolled in college as a sports analytics major with dreams of becoming a sportscaster. After two semesters he walked away. Not because he failed, but because his classmates kept telling him the same thing, you're too funny for this.

The internet has a way of finding real talent and Druski's rise was no accident. A 2020 appearance in Lil Yachty's "Oprah's Bank Account" opened the door and a feature in Drake's "Laugh Now Cry Later" blew it wide open. His friendship and creative partnership with Jack Harlow only cemented his place in the culture.

In 2021 he launched Coulda Been Records, a satirical record label that gave unknown artists a platform on Instagram Live only for Druski to roast them throughout.

That same year Odell Beckham Jr. discovered his videos, struck up a genuine friendship, and invited him to stay at his home during the pandemic. Proof that the sports world was fully locked in.

Druski went on to open for J. Cole and 21 Savage on The Off-Season Tour, then Chris Brown and Lil Baby on the One of Them Ones Tour, before headlining his own "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" tour in March 2023, a show that blended stand-up with live Coulda Been Records auditions.

In fall 2024 he launched Coulda Fest with a sold-out show at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

It expanded into a 10-city arena tour in 2025 featuring Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Jack Harlow, Rod Wave, Shaboozey, and more, with all dates reportedly sold out. That same year Forbes ranked him No. 9 on its top creators list after he earned $14 million.

What makes Druski resonate so deeply with the culture is simple.

He makes fun of everyone and nobody is off limits. There is no agenda, no malice, just pure unfiltered humor that reminds us all not to take life too seriously.

His lightheartedness is his superpower and in a world that can feel heavy, Druski's greatest gift is giving people permission to laugh every single day.

Maybe that's why his story resonates with me the way it does.

He didn't just make it. He built something entirely his own, on his terms, in his voice, at his pace.

From a sports analytics classroom to sold-out arenas, his is one of the great origin stories of this generation of creators.
