Coachella has always been a cultural moment, but for the past few years has fell a little flat, as far as hype and headliners. That is, until Justin Bieber was announced as the Saturday headliner for Coachella 2026. Considering that he hadn’t performed for a crowd this massive since cancelling half of the Justice Tour, the idea of him returning to main stage Coachella instantly created hype and the festival sold out in just three days. According to Vogue Business, Bieber became the highest paid artist in Coachella history at $10 million, drove the highest ticket demand ever, and delivered the most-searched performance in the festival’s history.

I was lucky enough to attend Weekend 1 of Coachella and my first one ever, at that. I genuinely don’t know how I’ll ever top it. Getting Justin Bieber as my first-ever Coachella headliner feels almost unfair. I fear no future festival will compare. Justin Bieber closed the main Coachella Stage with his set starting right at 11:25pm. For the whole hour and a half, it truly felt like we were just hanging out with him. He looked happy, healthy, and fully present in a way that fans haven’t seen him in years. He opened up the night with a run of tracks from his new album SWAG – “ALL I CAN TAKE,” “SPEED DEMON,” “GO BABY,” “PETTING ZOO,” “I DO” – before bringing out Kid Laroi for “Stay.”

But the most unforgettable moment of the night came when he sat behind his laptop and started singing along to his throwback YouTube videos. Hearing him revisit “Baby,” “Favorite Girl,” “That Should Be Me,” “Beauty and a Beat,” “Never Say Never,” “Confident,” “All That Matters”, plus early covers like “With You” by Chris Brown and “So Sick” by Ne-Yo, felt like watching him time-travel through his career. It was nostalgic, emotional, and honestly genius. This was a reminder of how far he’s come and how deeply his music is woven into pop culture. Justin Bieber closed the night with more SWAG tracks, ending with “YUKON,” “DEVOTION,” then surprised the crowd by bringing out Tems for “I THINK YOU’RE SPECIAL”, Wizkid for “Essence”, and closing with “DAISIES.”

What made Bieber’s Coachella weekend even more impressive is that his impact extended beyond the stage. His brand, SKYLRK, which only officially launched back in July, broke Coachella records with its first-ever physical activation. The SKYLRK Oasis was a massive, immersive installation on the festival grounds. It was a full-on branded environment with shade, cooling mist, and a dedicated shop for all SKYLRK merch.

The numbers were staggering, generating over $5 million in revenue during Weekend 1 alone and ultimately surpassing $15 million across both weekends. This made SKYLRK the highest-grossing merch activation in Coachella history. Justin Bieber didn’t just headline, he reshaped the festival’s commercial landscape.

I have been a Justin Bieber fan for 18 of my 26 years of life and watching him deliver at Coachella truly felt surreal. His performance was thoughtful, nostalgic, innovative, and honestly iconic.

Between the sets, the storytelling, and the SKYLRK takeover, he reminded everyone exactly who he is. Justin Drew Bieber.
