Kids of Immigrants x Nike teamup on the T90 mules.
Founded in 2016 by first-generation Americans, Kids of Immigrants has become one of Los Angeles’s most meaningful lifestyle brands rooted in representation and community empowerment. Their message and the heart of their work is centered on honoring immigrant stories and uplifting the people who shape them.
That authenticity led to their first Nike collaboration in 2024 with Air Max SNDR x Kids of Immigrants, released in two standout colorways: Black/Anthracite and Light Silver/Total Orange. The collection emphasized connection and care, encouraging people to check in on their loved ones and, as Nike put it, to “keep showing love for yourself and your community.” Alongside the sneakers, KOI introduced apparel and accessories that echoed the same themes of unity and togetherness.
In May 2026, KOI and Nike reunited for a second capsule built around the T90 Mule, offered in “Khaki” and “Velvet Brown.” The collection included a jersey, a “Just Do It Together” t-shirt, a scarf, and socks, but the mules were the standout. The original T90 dates back to the early 2000s as a soccer cleat designed to endure a full 90-minute match, instantly recognizable by its bold “90” logo.
Reimagining it as a mule feels perfectly aligned with today’s shift toward sleek, easy silhouettes and footwear that blends comfort, simplicity, and everyday wearability. KOI’s interpretation keeps the spirit of the T90 intact while adding their own style and personality to it.
What makes this collection resonate is its purpose. KOI isn’t just reviving a nostalgic silhouette; they’re using it to highlight community, collaboration, and the idea that creativity is strongest when it's shared. The T90 Mule embodies that ethos through thoughtful design, warm earth-toned colorways, and storytelling that feels both personal and universal.
After writing about them, I’m convinced I need a pair myself. Although they’ve sold out on KOI’s site, secondhand platforms like StockX and GOAT still have them at reasonable resale prices. It’s exciting to imagine what KOI and Nike will collaborate on next–and which silhouette they’ll bring back into the spotlight.
